Projects
Eaton Fire Relief Project

Fundraising and community support effort organized through PlanetWise to aid wildfire recovery in Altadena and Rancho Palos Verdes.
After the devastating wildfires in Altadena and Rancho Palos Verdes, I worked with my PlanetWise team to organize a fundraising campaign to support recovery and rebuilding efforts. Together, our small group of students raised $4,500 to assist local families and environmental restoration projects affected by the fires. The effort brought together students from the U.S. and abroad and showed me how collective action, even on a small scale, can make a real difference. It strengthened my belief that environmental work is ultimately about people and the communities we help rebuild.

Ronald McDonald House Volunteer Project

Creating handmade cards to encourage children receiving medical care.
A few years ago, I started gathering a small group of friends to make cards for children at the Ronald McDonald House. We meet about four times a year, and each time we create more than fifty handmade cards filled with messages of hope and encouragement. It’s a simple project, but it reminds me how kindness can lift spirits and bring comfort to families during difficult times. Working together with friends to bring a little light to someone’s day has become one of the most meaningful parts of my volunteer work.

Future Project Plans
I’m excited to keep building on what I’ve learned through PlanetWise and my community work. My next goals are to:
-
Host Carbon Footprint Calculator Workshops to help students and families understand their daily impact and learn simple ways to reduce emissions.
-
Organize Cultural Exchange Workshops that connect students from different countries to share environmental practices and ideas.
-
Expand School and Community Recycling Drives to reach more classrooms and neighborhoods.
Each project is a step toward helping people see that sustainability isn’t just about the planet—it’s about working together to make lasting change.
